Esky co-douphin, Please Help

Postby Ben » Fri Jul 03, 2009 8:12 pm

I am a learner rc heli user and I have a E-sky co-douphin 4ch electric heli.

I was doing really well at learning to fly firstly on the flight sim. then on the heli (my first) and went through some small crashes as you do. The heli held up well and all I needed to do is replace the blades a few times, I think where I went wrong is when I decided to upgrade the heli parts to metal parts.

I pulled the heli apart then put it back together with the metal parts, then got it going again(I still have all parts). Every time I increased power the heli falls over to the right. I tryed adjusting everything I could but without any improvement.

Keep in mind I have no idea and was trying to fix it, I have since been put off flying heli's this sux because I would love to be able to have some fun. The reason why I brought it, I need to ask for any ones help/time to get me on track, any help will be alot for someone(me) who is keen, but only a learner

Thanks Ben

if the metal parts are purple or blue throw them away - they are heavier and not as good quality as the original plastic parts. The silver metal parts from xtreme are good quality, but they are heavier than the plastic. Put the plastic back on and make sure the swash plate is level and go fly.

A good site with lots of info and tips is Heliguy

Thanks for your reply, the parts are the silver xtreme parts like you said I will put it together with the plastic parts again :( (but the silver parts look great on the heli) and figure out how to level the swash plate. I'll have a look at the info on heliguy after this

It is very strange for a lama heli to tip over. when it is on the ground do all of the servos move properly? look at the swashplate (thing the servo rods conect to) it should tip down in the direction you move the stick. It is possible you may have stripped a gear so the swashplate is no longer level or something like that.

You're probably fixed it by now but just in case you haven't...

The servos on a few of the e-sky co-axial helis are only held on by double sided foam tape. This is usually enough to hold them in place, but sometimes it just comes apart. Simply pressing it back into place usually does the trick, but you may need to replace the foam tape if it still wont hold. You wont want it coming apart during flight :D
